Didn't go to the Osmonds concert.
But I went when they came in the 80s. It was amazing that my dad actually bought us tickets for it. He has zero interest in this kind of thing.
Didn't go to see Air Supply either.
But it reminded me of another man, my JC teacher Mr H, who appeared surprised that his students were fans of English, Dutch and Italian footballers and Australian bands (not much interest in Japan or Korea in those days!). He had just come to Singapore so I guess he could be forgiven for not knowing that we Singaporeans were/are quite global in our tastes. Wonder how he is now... Anyway, wasn't their old drummer a Singaporean called Ricky or something like that?
But I did see Chage and Aska on TV.
Didn't know these guys are still singing! Watch Say Yes here!
Meanwhile, I've been off the K drama radar for a while but I've recently been catching bits of Formidable Rivals on KBS. This girl is a bit too serious most of the time (haven't watched enough of the show to know if that's intentional) but there was this crying scene with her adoptive dad (in the pic with her) last night where she acted really well. Usually you have kids over- or even under-acting in crying scenes (I'm thinking of mostly local shows) but she was good, especially when her voice cracked. Well done, girl!
And no, it's not a weepie (as far as I can tell). It's about bodyguards, including her adoptive dad and Chae Rim, who are assigned to protect various high level people such as the president's family. And the girl happens to be the president's real granddaughter. Yes... see the 'drama' in it? Ha ha...

I saw part of Donny Osmond's London concert DVD a couple of years ago. He was still entertaining and the crowd was very appreciative. But he had to add some 'modern' songs to his repertoire, though.
When these people are young and in the peak of their career, they don't bother with a tiny red dot like Spore. Even if they do come. the prices are rocket high.
Now they are way past their prime then they come. The prices have come down to earth, but so have our incomes :(
